This was supposed to be a renovation, not a romance.
After spending the last decade building my own wedding photography business, I’ve finally saved up enough money to buy the house my grandparents built. Now I need a contractor to bring the long-neglected home back to life. Only finding someone willing to take the job and do it my way is proving more difficult than expected.
Enter Calvin Hopkins. My teen crush and nemesis, he is the last person I want to hire, but, unfortunately for me, he’s also the only person willing to take on the project. In fact, he’s borderline insistent that I hire him. He clearly needs the work, and thanks to this cruel twist of fate, I need him.
Fine. So long as he brings my vision to life, I can deal. Once the house is finished, we’ll go our separate ways and I can get back to my solitary life. Or maybe not. What starts as meetings to choose tile and paint colors turns into casual dinners, then actual dates, and I can’t believe I’m considering a more long term collaboration.
Until Calvin’s true motives come into question, and then I don’t know what to believe. Letting him into my heart may have been a huge mistake, and getting him back out is proving to be not so easy.
